DT Adam McLean Commits to Penn State

At the start of the day, Penn State had the No. 2 ranked recruiting class in the country. But by the end of the Blue-White game today, the Nittany Lions might just be No. 1.

James Franklin and Co. picked up a verbal commitment today from defensive tackle Adam McLean. The four-star recruit from North Potomac, Maryland had offers from Alabama, Florida State, Ohio State (where he was recruited by Larry Johnson), and Texas A&M, among dozens of other offers.

McLean had 47 tackles, including 10 for a loss, and seven sacks during his junior campaign in 2013 at Quince Orchard High School. He is a 2015 Under Armour All-American, and carried a 3.3 GPA into his junior season. He had his unofficial visit earlier this week, and came up for today’s Blue-White game.

This is the 12th commitment for the 2015 class, by far the most in the nation, and the eighth four-star player to commit. This is also the seventh ESPN Top 300 recruit in the class — Penn State has never had more than six in one class before.
