Penn State Football: 2018 recruiting class up to No. 2 in some rankings

Penn State football placed No. 2 in multiple recruiting rankings for the 2018 class. The Nittany Lions’ have hauled in some strong recruits so far.

James Franklin flipped the Penn State football program on its head with a breakout 2016 season. The results of an 11-3 year and a Big Ten title yielded the Nittany Lions some impressive 2018 recruits.

Although the program struggled in Franklin’s first two seasons, the strong 2016 campaign earned Penn State five four-star recruits and two five-star recruits. Two hard commits in Justin Fields and Ricky Slade headline the class. Fields sits atop the national dual-threat quarterback rankings, while Slade leads the all-purpose back rankings.
